WeFood – Discovering the Taste Factories
Applications are now open for the 2025 Edition of the WeFood International Fellowship, a 3-day intensive program to discover food&wine excellence that will take place from Friday 31st to Sunday 2nd November 2025 in Northern Italy.
The WeFood International Academy is specifically designed for English-speaking BA, MA and PhD students and offers the possibility to students to meet, exchange knowledge and train, through active participation in the event that allows to:
- discover the most important companies in Northeastern Italy, an area where companies of true excellence in the food, wine and food equipment sectors are located
- participate in guided visits, presentations, meetings with entrepreneurs
- analyse concrete business studies, which will be discussed with entrepreneurs, managers and industry professionals
The WeFood International Academy is an excellent training opportunity for students of food science and technology, chemical and physical sciences, agricultural and veterinary sciences, tourism sciences, marketing and communication, economics, management, business organization and management engineering.

The WeFood International Academy programme
During the last Academy Tour organized, the selected students had the opportunity to visit the Lattebusche dairy; the Antico Laboratorio San Giuseppe, Nonino Distillatori, and Distilleria Zini distilleries, to understand the organization and management of both large and small-medium enterprises; the prosciutto factory La Glacere; the Dri Roncat winery; the Corte Tomasin olive oil mills and Casato Bertoia, the latter specializing in organic farming for five generations.
The Tours dedicated to the Academy Project are always structured to cover various sectors of Food & Wine, in order to highlight the gastronomic excellence of a territory. The selected companies will be announced close to the event, in respect of the interests, passions, and academic backgrounds of the selected students.
Over the years, the students involved in the Academy Project have also had the chance to visit: Acetaia Giusti, Acetaia Malpighi, Adelia Di Fant, L’Antica Quercia, Astoria, Aula Mater, Azienda Agricola Conte Collalto, Azienda Agricola Ivo Gelmini, Azienda Agricola Zucchi Tommaso Tobia, Burbello, Cantina Ongaresca, Capperi… che pizza!!!, Caseificio Castellan Urbano, Corte Capitelli, Distilleria Ceschia, Distilleria Poli, Distilleria Schiavo, Dorbolò Gubane, Fraccaro Spumadoro, Frantoio Bonamini, La Gubana della Nonna, Loison, Maeli, Museo del Caffè Dersut, Museo Luxardo, Naturgresta, Pasticceria Filippi, Riso Melotti, Roteglia 1848, Società Agricola Eleva, Società Agricola La Fagiana, and many others.
Benefits for selected students
- participation in guided tours through the most innovative companies in the area;
- bus transfers for the whole duration of the itinerary;
- lunch and dinner with fixed menu, in establishments to be indicated by the organization;
- full board accommodation in 3-4 bed rooms for the entire duration of the stay (from Friday 31st to Sunday 1st Novembre 2025); single or double-room accommodation is available at an additional cost.
In order to confirm participation to the Academy Program, selected students are required to pay a participation fee of 320,00 Euros.
The Academy Program does not cover travel expenses to/from the city of residence.
Special meals
All students taking part in the WeFood Academy tour will have the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive gastronomic experience, having one of the lunches or dinners at one of the award-winning restaurants and pizzerias listed in the food and wine guides Venezie a Tavola, Toscana a Tavola, Piemonte a Tavola, Emilia Romagna a Tavola, Milano e Lombardia a Tavola
How to apply
In order to successfully complete the Academy Program and obtain the final certificate, selected students are required to attend the program of events and actively contribute to the activities defined by the organizing committee of the WeFood International Academy.
Applications will be selected on a weekly basis following criteria such as resume, course of study/research project, motivation letter. Our team will provide selected students with all information regarding calendar of activities, accommodation, meals, as well as details to pay participation fees.
