Applications are now open for residency scholarships to participate in the fall edition of the Academy Project of WeFood | Tour to Discover the Taste Factories., scheduled from Friday, November 1 to Sunday, November 3, 2024. The WeFood Academy is for students in bachelor’ s, master’s, doctoral and ITS degree programs.

La WeFood Academy intends to offer a unique opportunity for meeting, exchange and education through active participation in the event that allows students to:

  • Discover the excellence of taste of an area that boasts excellence in the catering, wine, food equipment for the food&wine industry, typical products

  • Participate in farm tours, with workshops, presentations, meeting with entrepreneurs

  • Discover and explore real business case studies, which will be discussed with entrepreneurs, managers and industry professionals

TheWeFood Academy is thus an educational opportunity of excellence for students of food science and technology, chemical and physical sciences, agricultural and veterinary sciences, tourism science, marketing and communication, economics, management, business organization and engineering management.

Scholarships to attend WeFood Academy

WeFood pays special attention to the involvement of young people from Italian universities, to whom it intends to offer a unique opportunity to meet, exchange and train. To this end, the organization is offering a select number of university students the opportunity to apply for fellowships.

The Program of the event

The full program of the WeFood Academy is being finalized and will be available in the coming weeks on this website. Academy participants will be able to visit 5-8 companies (number varies depending on the geographical distances between the selected “Taste Factories”) according to predetermined itineraries.

Benefits for participants

Since 2013, more than 13,000 selected students – from bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and ITS degrees – have participated in the Academy Project. Through our activities, we offer participants a unique opportunity to meet and exchange views with renowned professionals and experts in the field, participate in training activities, and join an international network of peers who share their same interests.

The WeFood Academy provides all interested students with 200 living grants that include:

  • Participation in guided tours of the most innovative companies in the area;

  • Bus transfers from one company to another to participate in the event’s activities and events;

  • accommodation in multiple rooms in contracted facilities for the entire duration of the stay (nights of November 1 and 2, 2024) with payment of tourist tax;

  • Fixed-menu lunches and dinners, in facilities that will be indicated by the organization.

The living scholarships cover 50 percent of the organization costs. To confirm their participation in the event, students selected for the living grant are required to pay a participation fee of 280 euros.

Round-trip travel expenses to the city where the WeFood Academy will begin are the responsibility of the selected students. Anofficial certificate of participation will be issued at the end of the event.

How to apply for residence

The WeFood Academy is making 200 residency grants available to interested parties. To apply, simply fill out the form available by clicking here by Oct. 27, 2024.

Selected students are expected to follow the program of events that will be defined by the organization and take an active part in the activities planned for the three-day event.

Applications will be selected at the sole discretion of the event’s organizational management; applications will be selected and approved weekly until all available places are filled.

Our staff will provide selected students with all information regarding board, lodging and the schedule of appointments, and communicate how to make payment of the participation fee.
